About

I have over 30 years of government public affairs/public relations experience as well as extensive international experience.  With a decade in Japan, years in Korea, temporary assignments in the Philippines, and travel in Thailand and China, I have a deep understanding of the geopolitical social and economic realities of the Far East. With years in Egypt, temporary duty to South Africa, travel in Kenya and Tanzania, I have considerable experience in Africa and the Middle East. I have limited experience in Europe with temporary assignment in Germany and travel in Greece and Austria. I am currently a mid-level manager in the U.S. government working with the strategy, tactics and technologies in the digital publication of information.

I strive constantly to upgrade my professional talents because I hope I can, in some small way, enhance humanity. I have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Chapman University, completed all but the thesis for a master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the American University in Cairo and an Associates of Applied Science in Computer Programming from Cochise Community College. I’m now working toward a master’s degree in Strategic Communications. For me, my career is both a calling and personal passion.

I served 13 years as an active duty print-photojournalist in the U.S. Marine Corps where I worked as a sports reporter, weekly newspaper editor, aerial photographer on the tactical helicopters, public relations for recruiting working with J. Walter Thompson and community relations chief.

I served seven years as a U.S. Department of State Public Diplomacy officer where I supported free trade talks in Chile and South Korea; Open Skies, 100% radiological scanning, and regulatory reform  in Japan, tourism and green energy development in Guyana, among dozens of other fascinating projects.

I have served nearly a decade with the the U.S. Air Force public website and digital publishing program, moving from infrastructure to policy.

In all, I have found the journey to be fascinating and fulfilling.
